Water Fasting – Day Seven and Day Eight of Water Fasting

Day seven and eight were the smoothest ones. No illness, no fever or any kind of food urge. In fact, I felt very active. These two days felt like a complete normal day. It was almost like you don’t even know you’re on water fasting unless you do some heavy work. There was neither weakness in the body nor any symptom of fever and cold.

The time seems to have slowed down completely; you live completely in the present movement. I experienced high level of awareness and alertness. No dizziness during these two days at all. You feel highly aware about situations around you; the mind gets very clear about lots of stuff. I felt like having a very clear focus. Some of the important decisions of my life were made by me during this period, as I found myself very clear and sharp about various situations. Though, bad breadth continues, it’s untreatable while you’re fasting. ;-)

On the night of eighth day, I started dreaming about the wonderful juice I am going to drink the next day, but it was clear that the body had no urge for food; it was just the emotional attachment.

Till next time, CYA!

Water Fasting – Day Six of Eight Day Water Fasting Experiment

Day six was comparatively better than day five, yet it wasn’t much good. I had a bad headache in the morning which decreased by the afternoon to almost half. The concentration levels were nil. No reading could be done. The day was not so good due to constant headache and filled nostrils which need to be emptied every now and then ;-)

I also had the some vomit feeling the whole day and finally at night I vomited, which was the most amazing thing that happened during the water fast. Coz after that vomit I felt completely peaceful, no headache and no feeling of dizziness. I felt very active too. The concentration levels shot up and I also felt water fasting is a really easy stuff.

Sorry for posting very very very late. The following series is published after I finished the entire 8 day water fasting and 2 day juice fasting and even a few days later. Day 5 and Day 6 were really bad and hence I stopped publishing, I just posted raw info in my journal. After that, I didn’t have any urge to frame and write, so I kept it postponing. Here’s my Day 5 Experience below.

Day 5! One of the worse days of my life. I had no urge for food, but the problem was the sickness. First, there was lots of weakness in the body. The detoxification process had started aggressively. I had fever and those amazing things keep coming out of your nose every 10 minutes. It’s a natural process of detoxification and there’s no harm in that. After the initial first stage of removing digestive residues (Day 1 and Day 2), I am almost on the end of second stage which includes cleansing of mucous, fat, diseased and dying cells, and the more easily removed toxins. The difficult part is the third stage where the following happens.

During extended fasts the body removes: dead, dying and diseased cells; unwanted fatty tissue, trans-fatty acids, hardened coating of mucus on the intestinal wall; toxic waste matter in the lymphatic system and bloodstream; toxins in the spleen, liver and kidney; mucus from the lungs and sinuses, imbedded toxins in the cellular fibers and deeper organ tissues; deposits in the microscopic tubes responsible for nourishing brain cells and excess cholesterol.

The completion of this stage, require series of fasting.

I was happy about the cleansing my body was doing, but it was really difficult period. This was a boring period too as I could not read anything coz I had some headache. My movements were also limited because any prolonged movement led to a feeling of ‘weakness’ and I was not able to concentrate on anything. Though, I enjoyed just listening to some good music.

The night was not at all good. There is another part of water fast where as you don’t do any work, lots of thoughts ponder in your mind. Taking these thoughts on bed could be a bad idea. I was not able to sleep till 4 am. There was lots of headache and you keep remembering lots of things that have happened years ago. It’s like your unresolved thoughts also come over demanding your attention. A detoxification process of your mind, probably. I have heard this is normal too. You get a lot moody. ;-)

Till next time, Cya!

Water Fasting – Day 4 of 8 day Water Fasting Experiment

Day 4 was quite good, the food cravings were less. The worst part was the bad breadth from the mouth. It really stinks! There is a layer of some very filthy stuff on the tongue. No matter how many times I wash my mouth, it still stays. Though its considered normal in Water fasting, it a part of detoxification.

There were no bowel movements as usual, its considered normal. I haven’t done enema or any such stuff done by those who do water fasting. I read that doing enema doesn’t hurt, but its no way needed. (Thank God!) I also find that food doesn’t evoke me anymore. Its only the emotional attachment to food, which creates a problem in water fasting. There’s no other reason we eat tons of junk food daily. I am also more attracted to Natural food than any cooked food.

It’s strange how freaked out people get when they see you doing water fasting. One of the guy asked me ‘can you live?’. Most people are oblivious to benefit of water fasting. They don’t know about its wonderful benefits. The expression you see on people’s face when they hear about the water fasting is quite amazing. People really get out of their comfort zone when they hear about such things. Though I am glad that my family and friends encouraged me. My family really helped me with everything. I doubt the experiment would be easy without their help.

I delay writing my blog post, sorry for that. Till next time, Cya!

Water Fasting – Day 3 of 8 Day water fasting

Day 3 of water fasting was quite easy compared to Day 2. The food cravings were quite less compared to day 2. In the afternoon the cravings were high but by evening, it was like I don’t care for food. The surprising part was that I didn’t felt thirsty. I drank some water but yet I never felt I am thirsty. The theory behind this was that my digestive system has started braking the body fats. When body fats are broken it also release water, hence your body feels less thirsty or none. I also read somewhere in a forum that a guy did 12 day air fast (only on air, not even water) the reason he survived was maybe due to water in the fats. But please don’t ever try it, its really risky. The logic here is the same as how a camel survives in desert due to its hump. The fats gets broken and water is available to the camels body.

Bowel movements were almost to none. My day was not much productive as day 2, though I enjoyed reading some good Indian author novels like Chetan Bhagat’s “Five point someone”. Though I feel I might have enjoyed the book more if I was not on a fast.

I didn’t had dreams of food anymore. Water fasting seemed quite bearable. I also found some energy boost by the night. Though it becomes quite difficult to move once you’re on a stationary position. You actually have to sit or stand taking support from hands.

The fast is turning good. I hope the body is getting cleaned.

Stay Tuned!

The day two was really bad, I was feeling worse than ever in my life. The food cravings were damn high. I was dreaming of food the whole day. Everything from pizzas to burgers or regional foods, were dancing in front of my eyes. Just the smell of food was feeling so satisfactory. I probably smelled food five times a day ;-)

I kept myself very busy most of the day as that was my only way to fight against hunger. The good thing was I became very productive. I did so much work on that day, that I can easily call it my best working day in last one year. I kept on doing work without thinking of food. In the evening I read novel and kept myself busy.

Moreover, my family had a feast planned for our relatives and hence there was all amazing food in the house. Hence, It became a bit difficult for me keep the fast, but I managed it somehow.

I had a blackout once in the afternoon. Everything around my eyes turned back for probably 10 seconds. I believe it happened because the shift of my body from digesting food to fats was not done and hence my body was getting no energy. I started feeling weakness too. One thing to note here is never move fast when you’re on a fast. Any type of jerks or fast movements can cause blackouts or even fainting. And always take a deep breathe before you stand or before doing any movement, it helps you body get the sufficient energy.

My bowel movements were almost negligible. I think the highest self-discipline to maintain water fast is on the second day. Though I am quite enjoying the experience. ;-)
